William Shakespear ***

Night of 25th April was gone,
When a star in England was born.
Prosperous alderman in the town,
John Shakespeare got father’s crown.
In the Stratford Grammar school,
He got the student’s stool.
Teacher’s thought his language was weird,
Children thought it was pretty cool.

“And since you know you cannot see yourself,
So well as by reflection, I, your glass,
Will modestly discover to yourself,
That of yourself which you yet know not of.”
He wrote this when he was young!
No one could believe,
That it was his tongue.
He married Anne Hathaway,
I think she was lucky.
But as William had said

She got him lucky.

He retired from Stratford around 1613,
Then people understood
What did he mean.

Three years later
The star had died,
But his hard work had survived.
